Description
Chris Lofft is counsel in the Research and Knowledge Management Group. He is a research lawyer who works in a variety of practice areas on complex legal issues that require both in-depth legal research and experience with different legal subject areas. He has prepared opinions, research memoranda and given advice to government, institutional and private sector clients on matters concerning trusts, partnerships, limited partnerships, structured finance, payments, conflicts, professional regulation, contracts, damages, and other subject areas. Chris is also responsible for the training and development of the research and writing skills of the articling and summer students at the firm’s Toronto office.

Background
Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott, Chris was a research lawyer at the Court of Appeal for Ontario for three years and served as counsel to the Ministry of the Attorney General, Civil Policy and Programs Branch. He articled as a law clerk to the Chief Justice and Justices of the Superior Court in Toronto.
