Douglas T.K. Chiu, Partner, built his 12-year legal career at Hammerberg Lawyers LLP exclusively. Doug dedicates himself to providing effective legal advice to clients in stressful situations. He focuses on resolving personal injury matters, such as ICBC claims, pedestrian accidents, and slip and fall cases. An important element of his practice includes working extensively with family physicians, specialists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists. His collaborative approach not only supports the medical basis of his clients’ claims, but helps ensure they receive the best care from their healthcare providers.Doug routinely represents clients as lead counsel in the Provincial and Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. He has appeared in the Federal Court of Canada and various administrative tribunals.Fluent in Cantonese, Doug also acts for various clients who reside overseas in China and Hong Kong.Doug participates actively within the Chinese-Canadian community, volunteering with local charities and other community organizations. He is a regular guest host on the Legal Hotline for CHMB 1320, and also lectures at Registered Massage Therapy schools in the Lower Mainland.
