Description
Greg is the Practice Group Leader of the International Trade group. His practice embraces all areas of international trade, customs and commodity tax.
Greg regularly represents clients with respect to cross-border trade and investment issues, including compliance with international agreements (such as the North American Free Trade Agreement, the World Trade Organization and its various agreements), other bilateral and regional trade and investment agreements, export controls, sanctions, export/import licences, and procurement disputes.
He also has considerable experience in representing Canadian and foreign clients in trade remedy matters, including antidumping and anti-subsidy investigations.
Another significant area of Greg’s practice involves advising clients on all aspects of customs law, including planning and compliance with respect to all aspects of the importation and exportation of goods and services, such as tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, export and import controls, marking rules, seizures and ascertained forfeitures, administrative monetary penalties, and voluntary disclosures.
He also advises clients with respect to federal and provincial commodity taxes, including but not limited to the goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax, Quebec sales tax, and other federal and provincial excise duties and taxes.
