Joyce was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1996 after she received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) from the University of London. She completed the accreditation requirements with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016.

Joyce advises clients on family law, which includes divorce, child custody, access and guardianship, child and spousal support, property division, pre-nuptial or cohabitation and separation agreements.

Joyce is also experienced on business law matters, and can assist clients on the sale and purchase of businesses, corporate governance, shareholders’ agreements and commercial leases as well as the purchase and sale of commercial and residential real estate.

Joyce has negotiated numerous settlements for both family law matters and business disputes. When a settlement is not available Joyce has appeared before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia. Recently, Joyce obtained 100% in special costs for her client.

Joyce works with clients in their personal and estate planning to ensure that the clients’ succession plans are carried out to their wishes and eventually implemented smoothly in accordance to their objectives. She also advises clients, both able and disabled, to safe-guard their legal rights when they become seriously ill, injured or develop a progressive disease such as advanced dementia or stroke.
