Judith Wahl’s practice is restricted to speaking events, education material ( print and electronic) development , project work, and consulting services for organizations ( both non-profit and for profit, small and large) . Judith Wahl does not provide elder law client services to individual clients.

Judith Wahl is a lawyer, practicing as a legal consultant and speaker as Wahl Elder Law. She previously was the Executive Director and senior lawyer at the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly 1984-2016 and in private practice 1979-1984. Judith has an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. Throughout her legal career, Judith has been very active in advocating for the rights of older adults and in the development of elder law as an area of practice. As Executive Director at ACE, she was central to the development of ACE as the first legal clinic in Canada focusing on elder law issues and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013) for her contribution to the development of Elder Law in Canada.

Judith has been a member of many advisory and law reform committees over her career . These have focused on such issues as consent and capacity law, elder abuse prevention and response, Alzheimer’s policy, retirement home regulation , long term care regulation , health privacy, and law and aging. At present she is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Law Commission of Ontario Project on Improving End of Life Care and a member of the Health Quality Ontario Palliative Care Quality Standard Working Group. Judith has also been a frequent speaker at local, provincial, national , and international conferences on elder law and health law issues.

She is the recipient of the Ontario Bar Association Award for Distinguished Service, the Osgoode Gold Key for Public Service ,the Ontario Health Coalition Ethel Meade Award for her contribution to the fight to protect the public health care system and the Ontario Health Coalition Orville Thacker Award for extraordinary commitment to improve seniors’ care in Ontario.?
