Description
I am a family law lawyer and an accredited family law Mediator, specializing in family law since 2014. I have worked throughout British Columbia and have extensive litigation experience. While I have a passion for the court process, I always keep in mind that court is generally an option of last resort and there are many other alternatives for resolution.

During my career I have worked on a variety of cases, including medium to high net-worth files, as well as cases with issues pertaining to foreign assets and businesses, challenging parenting arrangements, and any other issues that deal with divorce and separation. I bring years of experience in drafting separation, marriage, parenting, and cohabitation agreements and I have attended numerous successful mediations as counsel. I am also accredited through the Law Society of BC as a family law mediator.

My ethos is to work towards resolution while striving to remove as much stress for my clients from the process as possible.

Separation and divorce, especially when there are children involved, is one of the most traumatic experiences in a person’s life. I am well-trained in alternative dispute resolution options and offer a trauma-informed approach. I will strive to provide you with all resources and assistance available to me.

I have a particular interest in conflict of laws and issues that involve multiple jurisdictions. I have worked with matters that involved jurisdictions such as Australia, Philippines, Germany, Dubai, various Canadian provinces and territories, and numerous US states. I have dealt with Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act and the Hague Convention.

I obtained my BA in Criminology at SFU in Burnaby and I attended law school at the University of Victoria. I graduated in 2012 and worked as a legal consultant in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 2012-2013. I articled in a Downtown Vancouver boutique criminal law firm and was recruited to work in a well-known Downtown Vancouver boutique family law firm where I received extensive experience both inside and outside the courtroom. I continued to work in prominent Fraser Valley firms in the Lower Mainland until my family relocated to Victoria in 2021 to fulfill a dream of spending a life on the island. In my spare time, I enjoy paddle boarding or kayaking in the many lakes and bays that the Island has to offer and attend the Victoria Symphony and Pacific Opera Victoria as much as possible.
