I have 20+ years of international experience as a legal advisor and senior executive. I worked for about 11 years with pedigree law firms in Canada (including Baker McKenzie, and Fasken Martineau), the US (Cravath) and Europe (Baker McKenzie). In more recent years, I worked as a senior legal advisor and executive for several listed companies in the mining sector: BHP Billiton, Western Coal/Walter Energy, Silver Standard (now SSR) and Pan American Silver, after which I had been consulting as an independent legal advisor and recently I have returned to private practice.

I have considerable and diverse experience in commercial negotiations; establishing, managing and enhancing corporate legal departments; advising on corporate strategy and implementation, including on M&A and divestiture transactions, financing transactions, major projects, government relations, regulatory matters, and a broad range of other commercial transactions; enterprise risk management; corporate governance and legal compliance (including anti-corruption compliance); and material litigation matters.
