Kees de Ridder has a general corporate practice with a focus on intellectual property. He acts for Canadian and foreign clients on a broad range of matters, including patents, cybersecurity, licensing, and IP-related transactions.

Kees has a keen interest in digital technologies, specifically decentralized financial systems, computing, and privacy. Before law school, he was a computer programmer in the political and medical industries.

Kees serves as chair of the board of the Canadian Bar Association’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community (SOGIC) Alberta Section.

Fluent in French, Kees began his legal career as a paralegal at a global law firm in Paris, France.
