Description
Lisa Culbert is the Director, Business Development & Clerk Programs for the Toronto office. Lisa works closely with the client services team and senior management to implement the Toronto office’s business development and client service strategy, including supporting client pitches, proposals, presentations, RFP responses and mandate pricing as well as client communications and legal directory submissions. Lisa applies design-thinking, technology and operations principles to improve firm workflows, facilitate project management and enhance the overall client experience.

In this role, Lisa is also responsible for law clerk talent management, including career development, performance management, recruitment and engagement.

Professional Activities
Lisa is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Society of British Columbia.

Background
Prior to this role, Lisa was Counsel, Legal Solutions to a global technology (SaaS) company where she provided advisory support on corporate, commercial and compliance matters while tasked with designing and implementing process-driven solutions including workflows, proactive response planning and agile corporate policies.

Lisa spent 2017 as a professional nomad (travelling to and living in over 15 countries) while working in a legal consulting capacity focused on legal innovation and legal services design. She began her legal career as an associate in the Corporate Group of Stikeman Elliott where her practice focused primarily on securities law, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
