Matt was called to the Prince Edward Island bar in 2004, after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Prince Edward Island in 1997 and obtaining his LL.B. at the University of Ottawa in 2000.

As a partner in Key Murray Law, Matt practices in the areas of Real Property & Land Use Planning, Litigation & Administration Law, Family Law, Wills & Estates and Personal Injury Law. Matt is also an agent with the Federal Public Prosecution Service of Canada and appears regularly in Provincial Court in Summerside and throughout Prince Edward Island for the purpose of prosecuting federal offences.

A strong advocate of organ donation, Matt presently serves as Vice-President of the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Atlantic Branch) and as Chair of the Prince Edward Island Chapter. Matt also holds the position of Vice-Chair of the PEI Labour Relations Board and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and South Shore Chamber of Commerce. Matt is actively involved in the community, regularly donating his time to various community organizations, and frequently presents on estate planning and other areas of law. Prior to returning to PEI and entering the practice of law, Matt worked as an advisor in the Senate of Canada and Department of Foreign Affairs, in Ottawa.
