Description
Brendan Bissell is a member of the GSNH Restructuring & Insolvency Group and an experienced litigator with a practice in commercial litigation focusing on restructuring and insolvency.

Brendan has an extensive record of representing major stakeholders in corporate restructuring engagements in various industries. He acts for all parties affected by the insolvency process including: debtors, lenders, purchasers, secured and unsecured creditors, and directors, as well as various accounting firms in their capacity as trustees, receivers and monitors.

Brendan has been involved in retail and, industrial sectors, and in particular in several insolvencies in the construction industry involving complex multiparty, multi-province issues, construction lien and trust issues. He has also worked through the completion of construction projects during restructurings, the sale of construction businesses and significant ongoing contracts.

Brendan practices primarily before the Commercial List of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, but also appears before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice outside Toronto, other provincial superior courts in restructuring matters the Federal Court of Canada, Tax Court of Canada and is a frequent speaker at conferences.
