Richard P. Barton moved to Canada from the United Kingdom in 1984. After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of Western Ontario in 1991, Richard worked in Yamagata, Japan teaching English. In 1995, he earned a Master’s Degree in Japanese Studies from the University of Essex in the UK. He returned to Canada, and in 1999, he received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia.

After practicing law in the Fraser Valley and Kelowna, Richard joined the firm as an associate lawyer in 2006 and became a partner in 2010. Currently, he practices in the areas of personal injury litigation and commercial litigation. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, including the Court of Appeal, and has completed numerous trials in both the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, as well as hiking, skiing and playing squash. He is also a member of the Kalamalka Rotary Club.
