RYAN BREEDON is a partner at Lenczner Slaght.

Ryan's growing practice covers a broad spectrum of litigation areas, including professional responsibility, commercial and securities matters, estates matters, employment disputes, environmental issues and criminal law. He frequently acts in construction, insurance and defamation cases.

Since his call to the bar in 2004, Ryan has conducted many civil trials in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, before judges and juries, often as lead counsel. He regularly appears in the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Divisional Court in civil and administrative matters. He has also conducted many professional discipline hearings before a variety of professional regulators and several judicial reviews.

Ryan also maintains a criminal law practice and has represented clients in many criminal matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court and the Ontario Court of Justice. He has also acted, as both prosecutor and defence counsel, in prosecutions under the Environmental Protection Act, the Vintner's Quality Alliance Act, the Highway Traffic Act, and various municipal by-laws.

Ryan has appeared before many administrative tribunals, including discipline committees of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, as well as the province's Human Rights Tribunal, the Consent and Capacity Board, the Ontario Municipal Board and the Mining and Lands Commissioner. In addition, he has conducted several private arbitrations regarding commercial and construction matters.

Ryan teaches trial advocacy at Osgoode Hall Law School and is currently Co-Chair of Lenczner Slaght's Student Program.
