Description
Sabina Mexis is a tax lawyer at Axios Law. Sabina specializes in domestic tax planning including personal and corporate tax planning, corporate reorganizations and business succession planning, corporate acquisitions and divestitures, and all aspects of trust and estate planning for her clients.
Sabina has written extensively on tax matters for various publications put out by such publishers as Canada Law Book, Carswell, and the Ontario Bar Association. Sabina has also been a speaker at a variety of seminars on tax and estate planning including the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Federated Press and the Ontario Bar Association. Sabina is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, teaching Taxation of Wealth Transfers.
Sabina was active for many years on the Executive of the Taxation Section of the Ontario Bar Association, in various capacities including Newsletter Editor and Secretary. In 2014, Sabina, along with other members of the OBA Tax Executive, submitted an application to the Law Society of Upper Canada for the creation of a Certified Specialist Designation in Tax.
Sabina has a B.A. (Honours) in International Relations from York University and an M.A. in International Relations from McMaster University. Sabina received her LL.B. from the University of Windsor. Sabina is also designated as a Trust and Estate Practitioner with STEP Canada. Sabina was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2000.
