I have been at Weir Bowen since the start of my legal career in 2009, and I’ve had the good fortune to work with pioneers in the medical malpractice area, and fantastic lawyers in many other areas of law. When you hire me, you get the benefit of not just my experience, but also the experience of our team.

I am proud that I have the ability and privilege to be able to work for people who have unfortunately been injured through the negligence of somebody else. The focus of my practice is working for children who have experienced a preventable brain injury during the labour and delivery process or during the first months of life. Most of my clients have been injured through the fault of a doctor or a nurse.

Most of my clients have never been involved in a lawsuit in their lives. Making the decision to sue somebody is not easy, but I feel quite lucky to assist people in making that decision and guiding them through litigation, if that is what they choose to do.

I feel that it is important that every person who is wondering about pursuing a medical malpractice claim receives that advice from a lawyer who practices in the area, even if it may well be that I do not recommend proceeding with a lawsuit.

When I am not spending time with my 3 children or practicing law, I spend time in the community volunteering with the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association. I am also a member of the Birth Injury Lawyers Alliance.

I am proud to say that I am a founding organizing committee member of the Women’s Legal Forum with the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, which is an initiative for women to support other women in the practice of law, while fundraising for a worthy charity.

I also have taught other lawyers, law students and medical professionals on various legal topics.
