Sundeep Chauhan is Vice President & Senior Counsel – Global Content Protection with the Motion Picture Association, Inc (MPA)/Motion Picture Association – Canada (MPA-Canada) – serving as the voice and advocate of the major international producers and distributors of movies, home entertainment and television programming in Canada.

Sundeep is responsible for overseeing MPA/MPA-Canada’s content protection efforts in Canada. On behalf of these studios and their domestic affiliates, Sundeep leads the Canadian Hub of the Global Content Protection team in initiating, developing & implementing multi-jurisdictional content protection enforcement and litigation strategies. Sundeep joined MPA/MPA-Canada in 2012 as Counsel and then took on the responsibility of rebuilding and leading the Canadian Content Protection team in 2013.

With nearly twenty years of experience in legal and government affairs representing the creative industries and intellectual property owners, Sundeep has been designated by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Certified Specialist (Intellectual Property: Copyright). Sundeep is served as the Chair of the Canadian Anti-counterfeiting Network (CACN).

Prior to joining MPA/MPA-Canada Sundeep practiced with an intellectual property firm where he offered transactional advice and litigation counsel on matters relating to Intellectual Property (Copyright & Trademarks), Corporate Commercial and Administrative Law. Sundeep also represented clients before governmental departments and Parliamentary Committees. Sundeep’s prior professional roles have also included Vice-President & General Counsel to a music licensing company and Policy Analyst with the Canadian Government in regards to Copyright.

Sundeep is also Adjunct Faculty at Osgoode Hall Law School where he teaches an intellectual property law seminar on the creative industries. Sundeep has been invited to speak at numerous domestic and international events.
