Toni was a Criminal and Family Law Barrister in the UK for 9 years, before moving to Toronto in 2012. She gained extensive courtroom and trial experience as a barrister in court, almost daily. Toni’s career in Toronto started at a leading boutique family law firm, before moving to a reputable mid-sized firm, where she was an associate and then a partner, until co-founding Wharton Woods Family Law.

Toni represents clients at all stages of family law matters. She assists clients with negotiation and drafting of all types of domestic contracts – marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements to protect clients’ interests in the event of future separation, as well as separation agreements to resolve issues arising as a result of a breakdown in relationships. Toni can assist in all areas of family law, including child custody and access, child support, spousal support, and property issues.

Toni is settlement focussed and guides clients to try hard to resolve difficult issues. Toni boasts strong negotiation skills and utilizes these to assist clients to resolve disputes expeditiously and amicably.

While Toni believes that costly and stressful litigation should be a last resort, when court proceedings are unavoidable Toni’s unique, extensive experience as a barrister in the UK, has armed her with skills that justify her reputation as a fearless, passionate and skillful advocate, proven to achieve excellent results at all levels of court proceedings.

Toni is trained as a collaborative lawyer.

When not in the office or at Court, Toni’s two young children keep her busy and active. An avid soccer fan, she is often glued to the screen watching her UK team play, or on the soccer field sidelines watching her son, come rain or shine. Toni loves getting off the grid and taking huge adventures. She is proud to have recently summited Mount Kilimanjaro.
